The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 3rd District Engineering Office is set to construct three flood control projects in the Tuguegarao area, Cagayan.

Representative Randolph S. Ting of the 3rd District said that the DPWH is on track to construct river embankment projects in Amulung, Solana and Tuao towns.

He said that the projects will protect the eroded portions of the riverbanks, especially those affected by the changing waterway pattern of the Cagayan River.

“Erosion of the river bank, particularly within the path of the Cagayan River, has been a problem of the localities. These projects will save not only the residents living near the riverbank but also their livelihood,” Ting said.

The lawmaker said that he will also try his best to generate funding support from the national government and private organizations.
