Partrac Ltd, a Glasgow based marine, coastal survey and consultancy company, has reported a strong 2016.
“Following a review of our 2016 performance, we have taken time to reflect on what was an exciting year for the Partrac team. We delivered monitoring, survey and consultancy projects for offshore wind, dredging, tidal energy and major water infrastructure projects, many of which are ongoing,” said Director Sam Athey.
In 2016, Partrac Geoscience team has been involved in vibro-coring in Ireland, dredge monitoring in Scotland; hydrographic survey in the Thames Estuary; plus water quality and current monitoring at port facilities (including the MOD).
The company recently reported the conclusion of a project for SPAWAR (the US Navy’s environmental research division) designed to demonstrate how the firm’s proprietary particle tracking technology can be employed to address contaminated sediment related problems at US Department of Defense sites.
Dr Matthew Wright, Partrac’s principle marine geomorphologist, presented this work at the recent Battelle 9th International Conference on Remediation of Contaminated Sediments in New Orleans, on the two demonstration studies conducted during the project.
Particle tracking studies were also completed at Scarborough, Yorkshire and Montrose, Angus, both of which were commissioned in support of beach management/re-nourishment initiatives.
