DHI Group, an independent research and consultancy organization, has released a video about engineering the coast by understanding its nature, named ‘Coastal Erosion and Protection’.
“Coastal erosion and protection is an ongoing challenge. Information about wind, waves, depth conditions and sediment types is key in the decision-making process on how to protect the coasts,” DHI said.
For example, DHI uses software modelling to simulate the behavior of the coastal areas for predicting and mitigating climate change impacts.
In the video, Nils Drønen , DHI R&D manager for the coastal and estuarine department, shares how DHI’s technology is helping professionals around the world manage coastal erosion successfully.
