The Wilmington Harbor maintenance dredging program, located at the Port of Wilmington in Delaware, is currently underway, with the main goal to ensure safe and reliable maritime commerce.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, has just released this amazing photo of Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company’s cutter suction dredger Texas, during the shoaling removal operations.

The Corps typically dredges the harbor every 9 to 12 months.

The Port of Wilmington handles about 400 vessels annually and imports/exports more than six million tons of cargo, according to USACE.
