The Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) has just announced an update on the dredging operations carried out in the Tap Shek Kok area.

With immediate effect and for a period of approximately 10 months, dredging works will be carried out within the Castle Peak Power Station Jetty area in Tap Shek Kok, the release said.

The dredging project will be carried out by one grab dredger with two split hopper barges and two tugs providing assistance.

The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 meters around the grab dredger will be established, MARDEP said.

Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger.
