MRRMP-EIS Public Meetings Take Place in Kansas City and St. Louis

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City and Omaha Districts, have announced that they will hold public meetings on the draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (MRRMP-EIS) during the next week.

These events will take place on Wednesday, February 15, at Hilton – Kansas City Airport, Kansas City, MO and Thursday, February 16, at Double Tree by Hilton Hotel – Chesterfield, MO.

“The meetings will consist of an open house 5-5:45 p.m. and 8-8:45 p.m. with formal presentations 5:45-8 p.m. Participants will have opportunities to speak to subject matter experts about the draft EIS and to submit formal comments,” the USACE said.

The Corps also extended the public comment period for the draft Missouri River Recovery Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement to April 22, 2017.

An updated Notice of Availability will be published in the Federal Register on or about February 10, the USACE said.

The original comment period was scheduled to end February 24, 2017.
