The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, will hold the Herbert Hoover Dike (HHD) Industry Day on March 28 in Palm Beach Gardens.
A short presentation on the Herbert Hoover Dike Project and information on upcoming projects and technical requirements will be given.
“Opportunities for prime contractors and potential sub-contractors to discuss capabilities and sub-contracting opportunities will be offered,” USACE said.
Herbert Hoover Dike (HHD) is a 143-mile earthen dam that surrounds Lake Okeechobee, the heart of the Kissimmee-Okeechobee-Everglades system. The project reduces impacts from flooding as a result of high lake levels for a large area of south Florida.
Corps teams work daily on the dike, providing contractor oversight, quality assurance, inspections and dike operations and maintenance.
