The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has just announced that the marina launch at the Walnut Creek access area in Fairview, Erie County, will be closed from April 5 to approximately April 20 due to a dredging project.

The access area will remain open during this time, PFBC said in its release.

The commission recently completed a $3.77 million project at the access area which involved constructing a new 800-foot concrete panel wall to encase the existing, deteriorated channel wall on the east bank. The wall connects to a new fishing pier that meets standards for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Also, approximately 850 feet of rock rip-rap slope protection along the west bank was removed and replaced with a permanent underwater key-way and rock platform, which will be used for future maintenance and dredging of the creek bottom.
