The dredging project conducted by Southwind Construction Corporation in the Intercostal Waterway and Carolina Beach Inlet Crossing areas is now complete, the Town of Carolina Beach said in its latest release.

During the project, officials closed the beach area and campsites north of Zone 10. Other sections of Freeman Park were also temporarily closed during this beach fill scheme.

“All equipment and piping has been removed, all beach areas are open to visitors, and all campsites in Freeman Park are now available for reservations,” the town said in its announcement.

For this project, the contractor used the cutter suction dredger Wilko and workboats Proud Mary and Miss Leanne David Lynn.

The Intercostal Waterway and Carolina Beach Inlet Crossing dredging program started in the first week of April.
