Twenty-six infrastructure projects from across the West Midlands are in line for this year’s ICE West Midlands Project Awards.

The awards recognize outstanding examples of West Midlands’ design and construction completed in 2016.

According to the Institution of Civil Engineers, 2017 has seen the greatest ever number of entries for the ICE West Midlands Regional Project Awards – with 26 projects in total.

The following categories are included in the 2017 awards: Partnership, Education, Heritage, Team Achievement, Communication, Geotechnical, Construction, Innovation, Partnership, Studies & Research and Sustainability.

Some of the nominated projects include: Perry Barr and Witton Flood Risk Management Scheme (Category: Heritage, Partnership), Pratt’s Mill Aqueduct Wyrley and Essington canal (Category: Heritage, Partnership, Construction), Jackfield Stabilization Project (Category: Geotechnical), etc.

Professor Tim Broyd, ICE’s President, will present the awards to the winning teams at the Awards dinner, which take place at the ICC in Birmingham on 17 May.
