The Ocean City, New Jersey, said in its latest release that the details of the city’s back bay dredging project will be discussed at a town hall meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, at the Ocean City Tabernacle.

Representatives of ACT Engineers of Robbinsville, the firm the city hired to develop a long-range dredging project for lagoons and channels, will be on hand to update anybody interested on the 2017 dredging program.

The ACT Engineers representatives will also explain various efforts to create a sustainable plan to keep local waters navigable.

In their 2016 capital plan, the city proposed $20 million for dredging projects over the next five years.

Last year, the city dredged Snug Harbor, between Revere Place and Eighth Street, and Glenn Cove, between Tenth Street and Walton Place. Though the city dredged the channels, homeowners on the bay had to pay for their own boat slips to be dredged.
