Member for Bega Andrew Constance is asking the community to show support for construction and funding of an artificial reef for Eurobodalla.

Mr Constance said in its release that the Eurobodalla Recreational Fishing Action Group (ERFAG) has prepared a submission to support a new Offshore Artificial Reef to be situated off the coast of the Eurobodalla between Batemans Bay and Moruya.

“They are constructed from a series of steel or concrete modules, which are non-polluting, have a minimum design-life of 30 years and can withstand 1-in 100-year storm event,” said Mr Constance.

“Adam Martin, President of the Tomakin Fishing Club has been the driving force behind this proposal and I am pleased to be supporting his push for this amazing piece of infrastructure.

“By digitally signing the petition, it will allow me to submit the results to the Hon. Niall Blair Minister for Primary Industries to support an application for funding,” Mr Constance concluded.

Eurobodalla Shire Council is also supporting the push for the artificial reef, they announced on its official facebook page.
