The Anaklia Development Consortium (ADC) has completed the feasibility study and is continuing to work on their deep sea port project EIA report, which has been distributed for public review and discussion.

The preliminary design for phase 1 is set to be submitted to the Georgian Government as scheduled on June 30, 2017.

The consortium plans to start construction by the end of this year, with the operational launch of phase 1 scheduled for 2020.

ADC yesterday announced that they have appointed SSA Marine as the terminal operator for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

Levan Akhvlediani, ADC CEO, said: “We are pleased to have concluded the selection process and to have found such a renowned partner for the project. SSA Marine has extensive international experience and is one of the world’s leading port operators, making it the ideal choice for the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. The company joins Conti Group and Van Oord as international partners working on this landmark project.”

SSA Marine is one of the largest terminal operators in the world and is headquartered in Seattle, the United States.

The company oversees more than 250 strategic operations across five continents, servicing 27.2 million containers (TEU) and managing terminals in nine different countries.
