The Bahrain Real Estate Investment Edamah has signed an agreement with Vision Marine to undertake the reclamation work for the beachfront Saada Project – part of the Muharraq beachfront renovation, the Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reports.

The first phase of the multi-stage project will cover 18,000m² and feature beachfront restaurants, cafes and leisure facilities, in addition to a jetty.

“Edamah is expected to invite bids for the first phase of the project during the last quarter of this year,” Edamah Acting Chief Executive Officer Mahmoud Al-Kooheji said, adding that preliminary construction work would last 12 months.

Development plans for the second phase have been drawn-up in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, added Al-Kooheji.

The Saada scheme follows directives from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to proceed with the Muharraq beachfront renovation program, said BNA.
