The City of Bradenton, Florida, will conduct mini-dredge operation between the 12th Avenue and 14th Avenue west bridges in Ware’s Creek starting this week.

According to Bradenton Public Works & Utilities Department, this project is expected to be completed in September and is part of the ongoing maintenance associated with the creek.

The City and Gator Dredging are performing the operation, which will remove accumulated sand and silt from the creek bottom to improve stormwater flow and navigation.

The dredged material will be temporarily stored, dried then removed for disposal.

Measures for preserving water quality and protecting wildlife will be in place throughout the project, the department said.
