SRS – Sediment Removal Services, Inc., an Indiana based dredging contractor, has just announced that they are setting up their equipment at Lake Manitou to begin a channel dredging scheme.

The main goal of this cleanup project is to gain navigable water depths for the residence who live back in the area, SRS said.

The dredging of this channel will allow the residence to get out to the main lake without having to motor their boats through the shallow mucky water, which can cause issues to the lower unit (propeller) of the boat motor as well as plug up the impeller, that feeds the water pump to cool the boat motor, with debris.

These are just two of many issues that can be caused by running a boat through shallow lake water, said SRS.
