Norfolk Dredging Company was recently awarded a maintenance dredging contract for the St. Lucie Inlet and Impoundment Basin in Martin County, Florida.
According to the FedBizOpps, the project work consists of maintenance dredging of shoal material from St. Lucie Inlet.
The work will entail maintenance dredging of Cut‐1 to depths varying from 16 to 18 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth, and Impoundment Basin to 16 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth.
All material will be placed in the permitted ocean disposal area which lies approximately 10.6 nautical miles southeast of the inlet. Work also includes, but is not limited to turbidity monitoring and endangered species monitoring.
The $5.4 million contract was awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, on August 16th 2017.
