Battelle Memorial Institute, an applied science and technology development company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, has won an $8 million contract for sampling and testing of dredged material, according to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) latest announcement.

The contract will be undertaken in accordance with the procedures described in the 2016 U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District/Environmental Protection Agency Region 2 guidance for performing tests on dredged material proposed for ocean disposal.

Bids for this project were solicited via the Internet with three received, DoD said.

Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of August 21, 2022.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, is the contracting activity.
