Mersey Point to Get New Jetty

The Department of Transport WA announced today that jetty construction works are underway at Mersey Point Shoalwater, Rockingham.

According to the department, the works to construct a new jetty at Mersey Point are expected to be completed by 30 January 2018.

“ The works will take place Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, with provision to carry out works on Saturdays as required. Works, including pile driving activities, will be carried out from a works barge and a support vessel. Unlit piles will be in the water inside the works area, ” reported the Department of Transport.

The works area will extend approximately 60 meters into the water and will be delineated by lit yellow buoys, approx one meter in height, and equipped with flashing yellow lights.

The barge and associated equipment will remain inside the works area outside of operating hours.
