The naming ceremony of DEME’s 7.950m³ LNG-powered trailing suction dredger Scheldt River will take place today in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

The vessel, which was launched on 14 January at IHC’s shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, is the second Royal IHC-built TSHD capable of operating on LNG.

The first one, the 3.500m³ TSHD Minerva, was launched on December 3rd 2016 at Royal IHC’s shipyard in Kinderdijk.

These dual fuel (diesel and LNG) dredgers have a ‘Green Passport’ and a ‘Clean Design’ notation, complying and exceeding with the strictest international emission requirements.
