The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) has invited bidders to submit their offers for the construction of berth 1-z in the Port of Odessa and a significant amount of dredging work in the adjacent water area.

“Both Ukrainian and foreign companies can participate in the procedure. For this purpose it is required to submit a package of documents set by USPA until 9 November 2017,” the port authority said in its release.

The berth 1-z is designed for handling of general cargoes on the Androsovsky Mole and – upon completion – will be 254m long with the depth under the berth -12m, the company said.

The construction works, worth $7.6 million, will last approximately one year.

“ Implementation of the project is carried out with the cooperation among the State and port operators, private investors and international financial institutions. The berth will be able to accommodate Panamax vessels, while in the rear of the berth a modern powerful grain terminal to be built. This will positively affect the export potential of Ukraine and increase revenues from port dues to the budgets of all levels. The task of the Port of Odessa is to provide a transparent, competitive tender, with the involvement of a wide range of participants ,” said Raivis Veckagans, the Acting CEO of USPA.

USPA has recently conducted a tender for selecting an outsourcing contractor which would provide service for reconstruction of the berth 7 in the Port of Odessa.
