The President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yaameen Abdul Gayyoom, yesterday inaugurated the coastal protection project in Raa atoll Fainu island.
The project was contracted to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) by the Ministry in May 2016, the Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Maldives said in its release.
Under this coastal development project, worth around $300.000, 155 km of rock revetment was constructed.
The scheme was funded by the Public Service Investment Program (PSIP) budget of the Government of the Maldives.
