DMC has signed Xbloc license agreement with China Harbour Engineering Company for placement of Xblocs at the Lekki Port project in Nigeria.
Xblocs of 2, 3, and 5m³ will be placed along the port’s 2.2 kilometer-long breakwater.
Lekki Port will be a multi-purpose, deep sea port at the heart of the Lagos Free Trade Zone.
Overall, the Phase I of the project includes construction of the breakwater, deepening of the 6km navigation channel, one multi-purpose wharf, three wharfs which can accommodate 8000TEU containerships, workboat berths, storage yards, retaining wall, dredging, etc.
Slated to be completed in 2019, the Lekki Port will be the deepest sea port in the Sub-Saharan Africa with a draft depth of 16.5 meters.
