Kerry County Working on Two Studies

The Kerry County Council recently submitted a coastal erosion and flood risk management study application to the Office of Public Works (OPW). The Kerry County Council recently submitted a coastal erosion and flood risk management study application to the Office of Public Works (OPW).

According to the announcement, the Council is planning to carry out Coastal Erosion and Flood Risk Management Studies in the following Coastal Cells areas:

These proposed Coastal Cell Studies shall aim to quantify the risk in terms of human health and life (social), environment cultural heritage, economics and infrastructure, the Council said.

Based on the risks identified, Coastal Erosion and Flood Risk Management Plans will be developed with the aim to identify the preferred option(s) and measures(s) to for the risks identified.

These studies, which will require 90% OPW funding, are estimated to cost €100,000 each.
