Build King-SCT JV Wins Tung Chung Land Reclamation Deal

The Government of the Hong Kong’s Civil Engineering and Development Department yesterday signed a £1.14 billion land reclamation contract with the Build King-SCT Joint Venture.

The agreement covers reclamation works in Tung Chung East and advance works for the Tung Chung New Town Extension project, which will provide accommodation for 140,000 people together with 870,000m² of commercial floor space.

“The reclamation – the main part of the extension project – will provide 40,000 new flats for housing and economic development ,” said the department in ts release.

The new land will be delivered in phases with a view to having the first population intake in 2023.
