China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC) has completed dredging works at the Ukraine’s Black Sea Port of Yuzhny.

In the course of the dredging works, 4.4 million cubic meters of material was removed and a depth of 16 meters was reached.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure, the project was due for completion by 31 March and CHEC managed to complete the assignment three months ahead of schedule.

The handover agreement was signed yesterday between Linyi Tao, the head of the representative office of the CHEC in Ukraine, and Maksim Shirokov, the head of Yuzhy Port Administration.

The Yuzhny scheme marked the first dredging project performed in the Ukrainian port by a foreign contractor.
