The Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission (PRRC) and the University of the Philippines Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc. (UP PLANADES) presented the 2017 to 2032 Pasig River Integrated Strategic Master Plan (PRISM) at Sequoia Hotel on January 24, 2018.
“ We are pleased that all the workshops called for the validation of the PRISM were well-attended by the local government units, national government agencies and even by our partners from the private sector ,” said Executive Director Jose Antonio E. Goitia .
It was emphasized by PRISM Assistant Project Manager Ms. Evelyn Lorenzo that plans and solutions cannot be on sight; the LGUs and private institutions must participate in this endeavour.
UP School of Urban and Regional Planning Dean and PRISM Project Manager Dean, Mario Delos Reyes, said that for the PRISM to take effect, there must be a comprehensive development plan and unified ordinance among local government units and national government agencies involved the rehabilitation of the Pasig River System.
Dean Reyes added that it was one of the many policy designs to develop a common framework for monitoring and evaluation that can guide the various government agencies involved in the restoration of the Pasig River System.
Present in the final consultation were representatives of the Office of the President-ODESGA, MMDA, DOTr, DPWH, DENR, LLDA, NHA, PCG, LGU-Caloocan, LGU-Makati, LGU-Parañaque, LGU-Pasay, LGU-San Juan, LGU-Taguig, LGU-Antipolo, LGU-Taytay, Manila Water, Maynilad, SCPW, and ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation.
