The Environment Agency is still on target to complete the construction stage of the Badsey Brook flood risk management scheme this Spring 2018, subject to weather conditions.
The Badsey Brook catchment runs from the Cotswold hills through the communities of Broadway, Childswickham, Murcot, Wickhamford, Badsey and Aldington to the River Avon.
The scheme included the construction of a flood storage area that will be able to hold up to 135,000 cubic meters of water upstream of Cheltenham Road in Broadway. Earth embankments and a control structure are also part of the works.
The Environment Agency and the contractor, Jackson Hyder, are set to complete the construction works on the scheme by the end of Spring 2018, reported the EA.
