The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) started a dredging project at its Walnut Creek Marina in Fairview, Erie County, on Monday 14.
PFBC warned boaters ahead of the works that they will experience lane restrictions when entering and leaving the channel into Presque Isle Bay.
“ Work will be performed between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. During that time, the channel will be restricted to one lane, allowing only one boat at a time to enter and leave the marina ,” PFBC said.
John Sinclair, of the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, said that the work will remove sediment that has built up in the channel in order to create safe passage for boaters.
PFBC also announced that the dredging project is expected to last two weeks.
