The Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) said in their latest marine department notice that, with immediate effect and for a period of approximately 9 months, dredging operations will be carried out at the Marina Cove Basin and its Entrance Hebe Haven in Sai Kung.
The works will be carried out by a dumb lighter, a hopper barge and one tugboat will provide assistance, according to MARDEP.
“ A working area of approximately 40 meters around the lighter and the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter and the barge ,” stated the Department in its official announcement.
A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area.
