The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, announced today that dredging work for the renourishment of the St. Johns County Shore Protection Project is now complete.
Final tilling and beach work will continue through Thursday, and construction equipment located at Pope Road will be removed by June 26.
This project renourished critically eroded shoreline between the southern limits of Anastasia State Park (8th St.) in St. Augustine Beach. Approximately 750,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from the navigation channel and ebb shoal were placed onto eroded areas.

The purpose of the project is provide storm damage reduction for upland development.
