The Maldives President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has attended the ceremony to mark the completion of a land reclamation project in Muli Island of Mulaku Atoll.
According to an official announcement from the Maldives Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure, the ceremony was held yesterday at the harbor area of Muli Island.
During the ceremony, the president unveiled a monument placed to mark the completion of this capital development program.
Mr. Gayoom is currently on a two-day visit to the islands of Mulaku Atoll. Prior to his visit to Muli, he toured Dhiggaru Island, where he inaugurated the Dhiggaru harbor.
The president then visited Mulah Island and inaugurated the services of sewerage system in the island.
According to the ministry’s release, he is set to visit Kolhufushi Island today and inaugurate the island’s new harbor.
