Pearl Atoll Pvt. Ltd. Maldives company has engaged Gulf Cobla Tennssor Maldives (GCTM) to complete the reclamation of Feydhoo Finolhu for their resort development in Kaafu Atoll.

The project was stalled and delayed for a long time since Breeman Maldives, who was initially awarded the project during 2017, failed to complete the dredging and reclamation of some 250,000 cubic meters of material.

“ After clearing the site, the cutter suction dredger Garhoud Bay of Gulf Cobla started within days to complete the reclamation of 6 Ha of land. GCTM satisfactorily completed the reclamation within the timeframe set by the client and the development of the resort is now back on track again ,” GCTM said.

Gulf Cobla‘s Garhoud Bay was also deployed at the Velana Airport expansion project where 6 million cubic meters was reclaimed for the major expansion of the international Airport on Hulhule island during 2017. In the summer of 2018, the Garhoud Bay has returned and is again engaged with the airport development, dredging and reclaiming for the South Harbor on Hulhule island.

GCTM is currently doing further variation orders instructed by Maldives Airport Company Limited for the shore protection scope of the airport contract, constructing rock revetments on reclaimed land and installing remaining sheetpiles along the new runway.

In addition, they were also awarded the installation of floating jetties near the new international terminal building.
