The President of the Maldives, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has participated in the ceremony to mark the completion of three projects in Madifushi Island of Kolhumadulu Atoll.

The ceremony held yesterday marked the completion of the Madifushi Land Reclamation and Shore Protection Project. Under the project 28 hectares of new land was reclaimed and 2070 meters of revetment was built.

President Yameen began his three-day visit to some islands of Kolhumadulu Atoll. On day-one, the President inaugurated clean water services in Thimarafushi Island.

The President then took part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the beach protection project in Veymandoo Island. He also took part in the ceremony held to mark the completion of beach protection project in Kandoodhoo Island.

The President also visited Buruni Island and Vilufushi Island yesterday; initiated the sewerage service system in Buruni and took part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the road development project in Vilufushi.
