Boskalis Westminster Ltd is about to begin maintenance dredging operations within the Portsmouth Harbor, reports the Queen’s Harbor Master.
According to the notice given by the Harbor Master, surveying operations and maintenance dredging will be conducted in the maintained areas within Portsmouth Harbor and its approach channels from 28 to 31 August 2018.
The contractor for the works, Boskalis Westminster, will use trailing suction hopper dredger “SOSPAN DAU” (LOA 73m) together with the support vessel “SMIT NEYLAND” that will be carrying out survey operations.
“ All vessels will display the appropriate signals when conducting survey and dredging operations, ” the notice said. “ Mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass at slow speed while dredging operations are being conducted. A listening watch will be maintained on VHF Ch 11 throughout. ”
