The Government of the Netherlands said that Infrastructure and Water Management Minister, Cora van Van Nieuwenhuizen, will be travelling to Poland with representatives of 42 Dutch companies and knowledge institutes from 9 up to and including 11 October.
This trade mission is aimed at exploring Polish market opportunities for the participating companies and closing deals.
Poland has an abundance of water and offers many opportunities for the Netherlands in the fields of port development, inland shipping, water management, and freight transport.
In addition to the capital of Warsaw, the mission will also head for the Wroclaw traffic hub and the port city of Gdansk.
Warsaw
On Wednesday, 10 October, Minister Van Nieuwenhuizen will be opening the Polish-Dutch “Transport Connects Water Unites” seminar in Warsaw.
She has also been invited to meet with the Polish Ministers Marek Gróbarczyk (Maritime Economy) and Andrzej Adamczyk (Infrastructure).
The meetings will involve an agreement to expand collaboration in the fields of water management and inland shipping. The visit to the capital will be concluded with a session during which the Dutch companies will sign contracts for commissions in Poland.
Gdansk
The final day of the mission will focus on the maritime sector.
One of the items on the agenda is a visit to the port city of Gdansk.
The visit to the port is aimed at exploring opportunities for the Dutch maritime sector.
At the Water Forum, considerable attention will be paid to the exchange of knowledge and expertise. Poland is worried about the impact of climate change on its cities and is anxious to improve its flood protection along the Oder and Vistula rivers.
