The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) last week announced the release of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Resilient Communities program in partnership with Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo has partnered with NFWF since 2012 to develop and implement grant programs to support the health and resilience of communities across the United States facing sea level rise, droughts, floods and fires.

This year, the program has doubled the funding available for community capacity projects and added an additional $500,000 for regional adaptation projects for a total of $3 million available for resilience projects throughout the United States and territories.

The Resilient Communities program, now a $12.4 million partnership between NFWF and Wells Fargo, helps communities take advantage of natural features such as wetlands, resilient shorelines, natural forests and healthy upstream watersheds to be better prepared for foreseeable resilience challenges, etc.

Through the Resilient Communities program, Wells Fargo and NFWF are investing in regional conservation projects and community capacity building that support future adaptation to natural disasters, build more resilient communities and demonstrate the effectiveness of green infrastructure in cities nationwide.

Pre-proposals are due February 19, 2019 by 11:59 PM Eastern Time, said NFWF.
