Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has wrapped up the land reclamation works for the first part of the K. Maavaru contract – Lagoon Island One.
MTCC was contracted last year to reclaim four islands in the lagoon, located in North Male’ (K.) Atoll, by a tourism property development and management company – Good Catch Private Limited.
The reclamation operations of the 8-hectare island were completed on March 28, 2019, the company said in its latest release.
The lagoon, known as the Maavaru Lagoon, was acquired recently by Good Catch.
These new islands will be designed for 5 to 7 star resort hotel developments, said the company.
