Llandudno Coastal Forum, working with Conwy County Borough Council and its consultants, will host a public drop-in session at the Victoria Center in Llandudno to introduce the shortlisted options for managing Llandudno’s beaches.
The event will take place on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th July between 10am and 4pm.
“ Officers from Conwy’s Environment, Roads and Facilities service, consultants AECOM and members of the Llandudno Coastal Forum will be available to answer questions about the options for protecting the coastal defenses at North Shore and West Shore ,” said the council in its release.
Cllr Greg Robbins, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for the Environment and Transportation and a founder member of the Coastal Forum, said: “We know that with the projected rise in sea levels over the next 50 years, we need to be prepared. These shortlisted options are the result of the Council working closely with the Coastal Forum over the last five years.”
Llandudno Coastal Forum was established in 2014 by local residents and businesses to provide an alternative voice for the future development of the North and West Shore beaches in the town.
The Forum is working with Conwy County Borough Council to provide beaches that are fit for purpose, provide appropriate flood and coastal erosion management, improve the natural environment and amenity, acknowledge the cultural heritage, and can create commercial opportunities for the town.
