Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) CEO Hassan Shah has officially inaugurated S. Meedhoo harbor upgrade project on 24th October 2019.
The ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament for Addu Meedhoo constituency, Rozaina Adam, Chairman Mohamed Faheem, other officials from MTCC and the people of S.Meedhoo.
According to MTCC, they mobilized to begin S. Meedhoo design and construction of the harbor on 12th October 2019.
The site was mobilized after conducting an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study, which was approved on 26th September 2019.
The project consists of construction of a 2,480-meter harbor pavement, 57,996 cubic meters of dredging and reclamation, a 115-meter breakwater, and a 208-meter quay wall.
The scheme, valued around $2.3 million, is expected to be completed in 365 days.
