The Coastal Texas Study is a comprehensive study to examine the feasibility of construction projects for coastal storm risk management and ecosystem restoration along the Texas coast.

Included in the study are massive sea gates across the Houston Ship Channel and 43 miles of dunes and renourished beaches spanning Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston.

The study also examines newest version of the coastal barrier once known as the Ike Dike. Initial estimates showed that this project would cost as much as $32 billion, but now officials lowered the costs to $26.2 billion.
