The Territory Labor Government has released the technical concept design for the new marine facilities at Mandorah , a locality in the Northern Territory of Australia.
The release of the final technical design will provide more certainty for the construction industry and deliver much-needed infrastructure in the Top End, supporting more than 270 jobs.
Local company Cardno (NT) Pty Ltd was awarded the detailed design tender, which also supported local jobs.
The Northern Territory Government has currently budgeted $50 million to deliver the project, and is undertaking value engineering to deliver the project within this budget.
Over time, the facility will include:
“Mandorah Jetty is considered to be one of the top land-based fishing destinations in the Territory and the new facilities will make it even more attractive to recreational fishers to visit the area and drop a line while ensuring it provides safe and accessible facilities for ferry passengers,” the Government said.
Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Eva Lawler , said: “The design of the new facility will reflect the needs of Territorians and provide safe, essential transport infrastructure to service Mandorah, Wagait Beach and Belyuen communities.”
Construction tender to commence works is set to be released by mid-2021.
