Yesterday was an exciting day for Foyle and Marine Dredging as they took delivery of the Hitachi EX1200 Excavator.
The ‘Grizzly 2.0’ is a monster of a machine with a 30-metre reach and a 20-metre dig depth with a 4m3 bucket capacity.
The EX1200 is a unique excavator within the Hitachi range, adapting to many different operations. The excavator includes electronically controlled hydraulic pumps, an optimized cooling package, enhanced hydraulic circuits, and a choice of emission configurations to meet regulatory requirements.
This new machine will allow Foyle and Marine to offer a full package for all rock armouring revetment projects.
In conjunction with the the company’s dredger ‘Dinopotes’ and their fleet of Hitachi Long Reach Excavators, FMD has the necessary equipment and expertise to construct the most challenging of revetments, in relation to water depth, outreach, and size of armour.
