Land & Water has just announced the development of the brand new 250 berth Shakespeare Marina in Stratford Upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

The new marina – situated in the county of Warwickshire – is being developed by the Geomac Ltd, member of the Land & Water Group.

According to the developer, this marina will have 250 berths and a range of amenities perfect for boaters who want quick access to the River Avon. There is also a beautiful towpath which follows the river into town where visitors can experience all of its 16th century history.

Neil Warren of Geomac Ltd said: “We are really excited to embark on another strategic marina development, and are particularly looking forward to unlocking this great site.”

Clive Matthews , CEO of the Avon Navigation Trust, commented: “We are supporting Land and Water Group with their plans. This marina will offer high-quality mooring facilities at the top end of the river on a flood safe site and we know from talking to boat users that there is a demand for this type of facility in the Stratford area.”

Over the years, Land and Water has been involved in a number of construction projects, some of them include wetland construction, habitat restoration, as well as the emergency dredging works in Somerset. The company has also designed and built over 30 marinas.

At the moment, the company is preparing the site for earthworks, which are expected to commence soon. The launch of the new marina is set for late autumn.
