A survey conducted two days ago by the dredging contractor, J.F. Brennan Company, Inc. shows the dredging progress in the Main Bay and Dane’s Bay to date.
As reported, over 337,000 cubic yards have been removed from Fountain Lake during Phase 2.
In total, the contractor J.F. Brennan will remove approx. 380,000 cubic yards of sediment this year. This work is expected to be wrapped up by mid-August.
The first phase included removal of over 700,000 cubic yards of sediment out of the Edgewater Bay.
After the second phase of dredging, the third and final phase will complete the Fountain Lake Restoration Project.
The third phase includes Main Bay (East Basin), Bancroft Channel and parts of Bancroft Bay.
