The new Tug Jetty in Durban harbour, South Africa, will be brought to a depth of -8m chart datum by the Damen CSD250 Indlovu.
The dredger is owned by Dredging Africa, and has passed all SAMSA inspections for certification.
According to Damen, the dredger has just been launched and brought into position to start the dredging job.
“The task itself is a challenging one: strict tolerances, a specific dredge profile and plenty of debris including junk and sunken vessels to take into account,” said Damen.
