MTCC development projects in full swing

MTCC development projects in full swing

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc (MTCC) has shared the latest updates on the ongoing projects in region.

According to MTCC, they have completed land reclamation works at R. Dhuvaafaru. The first shipment of rock boulders required to commence shore protection works have been delivered to the project site on 28th August 2021.

The R. Dhuvaafaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection project consists of dredging and reclamation operations of 22.2 hectares; 423m rock boulder revetment construction and 315m breakwater construction.

Next, MTCC announced that have commenced shore protection works at M. Dhiggaru on 28th August 2021. Scope of works for the project include; reclamation operations of 25 hectares; construction of a 384m rock boulder revetment and a 287m breakwater.

The company also said that the second shipment of precast concrete blocks required for the quay wall construction of S. Hithadhoo Old Harbor have been delivered to the project site on 29th August 2021.

The S. Hithadhoo Old Harbour Project consists of; dredging and excavation operations of 234,297cbm; construction of a 800m breakwater; a 284m quay wall; 1,420 sqm of paved area, installation of harbor lights and navigational aids.

Finally, the company announced that they have commenced construction of breakwater of Sh. Foakaidhoo Harbor.

The Sh. Foakiadhoo Harbour project consists of new harbor basin dredging operations of 39,995cbm, existing harbor basin dredging operations of 1800cbm, channel dredging operations of 4000cbm, as well as construction of a 507m breakwater.
