Brennan crews busy on Illinois River

A J.F. Brennan Company’s team is currently in action along the Illinois River.

The crew is working to place riprap along the riverbank near the Marseilles Lock & Dam, which will help to protect the riverbank from future erosion.

Marseilles Lock and Dam is located southwest of Marseilles, Illinois, near Illini State Park.

According to USACE, Marseilles Lock is 244.6 miles above the confluence of the Illinois River with the Mississippi river at Grafton, Illinois, at the foot of Bells Island.

Marseilles Dam is located 2.5 miles upstream of the lock at the head of Bells Island.
