The 5th shipment of rock boulders required for Ha. Hoarafushi Airport Shore Protection was delivered to the project site on February 19, 2022.

According to the contractor, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), scope of works for the project will include:

In July 2021, MTCC signed a contract with Maldives’ Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (MNPHI) towards implementation of this capital development project.

The value of the contract is MVR 90.5 million ($5.9 million) and the scheme is to be completed within 360 days.
