Baarah dredging kicks off

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said that the physical works on the H.A. Baarah Channel maintenance dredging project are officially underway. Baarah dredging kicks off

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said that the physical works on the H.A. Baarah Channel maintenance dredging project are officially underway.

The contract was handed over to MTCC by Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Baarah dredging agreement was signed on April 6, 2021.

A ceremony was held yesterday to mark the commencement of the works.

Member of Parliament for Baarah constituency, Ahmed Abdulla, MTCC’s CEO Adam Azim, and Senior officials of MTCC took part in the ceremony.

Scope of this project includes:

The value of the project is MVR 12.17 million ($787,398) and the work is scheduled to be completed within 120 days.
